Lookin' Hot, Kickin' Ass

After over a year of not submitting, I come baring this! Why the sudden jump in quality? I attribute it to 1) better pens 2) better paper 3) the "Around the World" remix of "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger"

This is a fanart of Takagi Saya from the manga series Highschool of the Dead. It's a series about school kids fighting zombies (go check out XLG's scanlation: [link]). After reading the first three volumes, all I could think was "wow, this series is really, really dumb. And I have to make fanart for it." So I set out to create fanart in the style of the artist. Which was really, really hard (because it's so different from my normal style), and required hours of researching the manga for poses (he always draws his characters from really interesting angles), inking style, the details of this outfit, etc. But I think it was well worth it.

Anyway, THIS PIECE IS INCOMPLETE. I still need to color it and make a background. But since that probably won't happen for another six months or so (I started this back in March and only today finished inking), I figured I'd put up the lineart as a teaser.

This piece is dedicated to all the awesome people I met at camp this past summer, because although they don't know it, they motivated me to finish it.
